Hardware Question: Processor requirement

C

Cheryl

Hi all. I see Publisher with Digital Imaging requires a
an Intel Pentium 500-MHz or faster processor (Pentium III
recommended). Would an AMD Athlon 1800+ work just as
well?

My first instinct is to say yes but you could be running 8MB RAM and then
I'd be completely wrong. ;-)

Yes, you will be fine with that. So how much RAM *do* you have?

Thanks JoAnn. I have 256 MB of PC2100 DDR RAM. I'm not
a hardware type person, so those numbers mean little to
me.

256 will do it but a little more wouldn't be a wasted investment. I have a
Pentium III 550 (4½ years old) and I have 384MB RAM. I'd like more but my
motherboard is maxed out. I'd like a faster computer but my budget is maxed
out.

If you're going to be doing photo editing, spend the money for another 256.
