Has anybody figured out how to fix extremely slow Frontpage 2003 .

T

Tom Kemp, CCI

I've seen several discussions around the web, but no answers. I'm attempting
to publish websites from their original locations down to my drive, and
websites from my local drive to websites on servers. Most of these are on
the local network, though they are serving the Internet. I'm getting
throughput between 1kbps and 20kbps. Most of the time when publishing to and
from our local SBS 2003 server it shows that it has 10+ hours to go, and
eventually stops publishing. The result is often that the WWW service
(W3SVC) hangs or stops.

The event logs show:

Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
(OS Error #11 Message: Resource temporarily unavailable)

and

Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:
http://{website} - Error #2000d Message: Cannot lock file
"author.log".
Either the file is in use or the web server is temporarily busy.

These are displayed repeatedly. Microsoft support shows that these are
eroneous errors, and only suggest a workaround of dispabling these reports.

Everything is up to date with Microsoft Windows Updates and Microsoft Office
Updates. I'm open to suggestions, and would love to get a real solution!

Thank you in advance,

Tom Kemp
