Has anyone been able to import files from government data base .g.

I am trying to import a government database into Access 2000. Access doesn't
recognize the extension. Are there downloads or other means to accomplish
this? Getting information from government sources seems like it should be a
common occurance.

Not enough info to give a good response.

The govt does not have a classified file format.
(Well it might but then ....)

Anyway, you need to explain what kind of file it is (text, Excel, Access,
Foxpro, dBase....)

Sometimes you can simply change the extension.
e.g. the govt uses .gov for text files so you change it to .txt and then it
imports into Access.
