Greetings,

I have an Access 2000 program which works perfectly fine using HPLaserJet
3020 to print mailing label of dimension 2x8 labels on an A4 paper. Exactly
the same program running on another win2k machine using HP Deskjet 6122
failed to print the mailing label properly; each row of labels shifted
upwards a bit and dropped the last row(have only 2x7 labels).

The margin of my report setting are:
Top(4.99) Bottom(5.11), Left( 6.1 mm), R(6.17mm)

The funny thing is that the margin setting is correct just before the
"preview". Once in preview mode, all margin setting remains the same, but
the bottom margin changed to around 12mm.

I do noticed from the spec that the bottom margin of HP6122 is 11.7mm, I
guess that means it's not an edge-to-edge printer but I need 5.11mm!!!

I'd like to know has anyone successfully using HP6122 to print label
properly?

Regards,
WWang

Many inkjet printers are physically unable to print as close to the edge of
the paper as laser printers (a consequence, I understand, of the different
mechanisms used to feed the paper through the printer). For this reason
major label manufacturers such as Avery produce labels specifically designed
for inkjet printers.

I don't know if this will help but I have similar issues with my printer
that doesn't print any closer than .6" from the bottom of the paper. What I
did was:
Set the top margin 1/10" smaller
Set the bottom margin 1/10" larger
Move all the text boxes in the detail section down 1/10"
The net effect should be properly printed labels all around.

I"ve tried this approach, but it doesn't work out as there is not enough
space available inside the label.

My label is 37.1 x 105 mm. yet, the bottom margin specified is 11.7mm, my
contents are 4 lines of text and it'll take about 25mm, which might just
fitted in, but I have to remove 1.8mm for the top margin;(

I might have to think about Brendan's approach, get a Avery label.

Thanks for the suggestion, I might have to change a different brand of
labels.

The important thing is not whether it is manufactured by Avery or not, but
whether it is specifically designed for an inkjet printer. I mention Avery
only because I know that they do manufacture a range of inkjet labels.
