have a problem with uifunctions in word 2007

when I start up word 2007 it tells me I have a problem with uifunctions and
says that I have a project open which I don't how can i fix this?

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, thankyou for your help. The
message reads the heading is Microsoft Visual Basic "compile error in hidden
module: uifunctions

What happens when you start in Safe Mode. From Start, Run, type in

winword /a

and press enter. Still the same error?

Did you read the part that begins with "If you get an error message as soon
as Word opens, but it doesn't crash (e.g. 'Compile Error in Hidden Module')
...."? This used to be a heading (and still should be).

In Safe Mode, Word is started in its clean install condition bypassing all
macros, templates, add-ins, drivers and customizations of any type. SO it
proves that Word is OK but there is some other 3rd party influence.

It is typically the printer driver, normal.dotx or third party add-ins. If
you had read http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProblemsStartingWord.htm as
Suzanne advised, it should find the problem.

Mr Farrell,
I am having the same problem when opening word. I get "Compile Error in
hidden module uifunctions", but in Word 2003 (Office Pro) Can you help?
