Sorry for the cross posting ... looks like I posted in the wrong group
before. At any rate, I erroneously received Basic 2007 with my new computer
(Vista) and need to upgrade to Standard. I can't tell from searching around
on the Microsoft Web site whether I can just buy a Standard Upgrade, or
whether I have to buy the full version. ??

The Office program came with the computer? An OEM version? Have you
contacted the computer vendor who supplied it?

Yes, the Basic program came with the computer. The vendor's hands are tied
because I missed the 15-day window to report the problem.

Ahhh, so the "Upgrade not applicable." refers to upgrading Basic, not
upgrading FROM Basic?

You should be able to 'cross grade' (add/move to another product in the same 2007 series) by purchasing either the Powerpoint 2007
upgrade package (Powerpoint 2007 is the app in Standard not in Basic) or you can purchase the Office 2007 upgrade package.

"Upgrade not applicable." means there isn't an Upgrade version, for
instance you can't have Office XP and "upgrade to Office 2007 Basic" at
a reduced price.
