have list of words one word per line want text to wrap

B

Bob Kupferer

I downloaded a dictionary. The words are one per line so
the line breaks are after each word, (I assume?). It is a
long list. I'm trying to print it and save paper, but I
can't seem to get the words to wrap and I can't go through
and delete the breaks after every word. All I've gotten
so far is columns, but I think I could save twice the
space if I had only a single space between each word on a
line rather than columns.

Also, I could save a lot more space by deleting the 2-4
letter words because I have them in separate files. This
probably seems an impossible task to search for and find
all these those.

Thank you for any help,

Have you tried using Table -> Convert -> Text to table?
Specifying 4 columns (or more if possible) should squeeze
things up nicely.

Alternately, you could do a wildcard search, using ^p in
the "Find What" box, replacing with " " (that's a
couple spaces; you wouldn't actually type the quotes).
That would replace any linebreak with a few spaces.

If you really wanted to delete 2-4 letter words, another
wildcard search, with [! ]{2,4} in the Find What box,
replaced with nothing would do the trick (notice the space
after the exclamantion mark and before the bracket, and
that those are braces around the 2 and 4)

You could replace ^p with a space.
