Have Office 2003 and 2007, can't open .mdi files

I asked a realtor to send me a floorplan of a house I am interested in. He,
being as technical as most real estate sales people are, scanned the
floorplans into .mdi files.

I being a retired computer professional, said to myself, "I can handle this,
after all, it is a Microsoft Office file format and I have both Office XP
Pro with Frontpage and Office Professional 2007". ---------------Wrong!!!

Neither recognize the .mdi format in Microsoft Office Document Imaging.

Office Pro 2007 tells me to insert the distribution disk which I did and
then apparently was unable to find the driver. It told me it needed Office
2007 with Frontpage, which I don't have but I would think if I have
Microsoft Office Document Imaging, I should have enough.

Thanks, in advance for anyone able to help.

Office does not install Office Document Imaging by default. It is included in
Office 2003 and 2007. Go to Add Programs in the control panel, scroll down to
Office, click change, find Office Document Imaging on your setup disk, run all
from my computer.
