Have Server Reply with Specific Message

Jason

Hello,

I am trying to set up an automatic response for certain individuals when I
am on leave. I have tried to do this using a server side rule within outlook.
The rule sets up successfully however whenever an email gets sent that meets
the criteria the rule never fires. You can find this rule in Outlook 2003 and
is called: Have Server Reply with Specific Message. The rule never fires if
an email has entered the Inbox that meets the rule criteria. I am in a
corporate setup and responses to the Internet have been enabled. I assume
this because if I set OOA a POP3 email address receives the OOA reply.

Finally I have only tested this rule using my own email address on the
corporate domain and a POP3 address.

Any help you can give will be very much appreciated. If you need anymore
information please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind Regards,
Jason.

What criteria does the rule use?

Sue,

I'm using the following:

With Specific Words in the Senders Address: ([email protected]) > Have Server
Reply with Specific Message (Hello, I will be out of the office until next
Monday).

In the template that appears when you use Have Server Reply with Specific
Message I only add text to the subject and message box. I don't change
anything else.

Thank you for you help. It's appreciated.

Jason.

That's a client-side condition (see http://www.slipstick.com/rules/serverbased.htm), which will prevent the server from running your rule. Try using the "from people or distribution list" condition instead. You can include multiple addresses.
