Having a problem publishing website

D

Diane

I'm trying to upload a new website through GoDaddy.com. I have searched this
topic and see others have had the exact same problems, however, the
resolution wasn't written.
I have two other websites with them and both went up without a hitch. This
one is giving me an error:
Unable to open http://www.joshcasaubonfans.com
An error occurred processing your windows sharepoint services. 4 possible
causes are mentioned: 1.WEbserver may not have FP Ext installed 2. webserver
may be out of service 3. if you are connecting through a proxy settings, the
settings may be incorrect 4. An error may have occurred in the webserver.

I see a previous response said something about "permissions" - what does
that mean?
Thanks for your time.

The FP extensions are installed. I have been on the phone with GD numerouse
times and they are telling me that everything checks out fine.
Do you have any other suggestions for me?

I go to File:publish Site: check FP or Share point services. I type the url
at the bottom and hit enter. The error message that comes up is the one that
was explained in the first post.
Thanks for your help.

Do you get the user name and password prompts? Are you running ZoneAlarm or
other blocking software? Are you using Proxy settings?

Try turning your firewall off and then publishing, if that works configure
you firewall to allow FP through.

What are proxy settings? I tried disabling the firewall, it didn't make a
difference. I have Norton BTW.
Thanks for the suggestions

I am not getting the user name password prompt - it gives me the error
message before getting to that point.

I don't know if any or all of these steps helped, but this is what I did. I
went into IE:Tools:Internet Browser:Advanced. I unchecked everything under
http settings. Then I went back to General tab - cleared the cookies, temp
files, and history. I then had to shut off the computer and turn it back on
again (that was my brilliant idea) and it worked.
I really appreciate all of your help! Thanks!
