having both 97 and 2003 on terminal server

Hi,
I have a windows 2003 terminal server machine with access 2003. I have only
one remote desktop user who needs to use access 97 and wondering if there is
any way to install 97 on this server only for him not all users. Any
suggestions?
Thanks in advance for any help-Rob

You can install both, they will coexist peacefully. Most of the time. The
trick, is to keep file associations pointed to the correct version of
Access. In this case, you want all access files to open with Access 2003.
For the Access 97 user, create shortcuts for starting the apps using Access
97 instead of allowing the file association to choose the Access version.

Example for opening a file using a specific version of Access:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE"
"C:\Data\MyDatabase.mdb"

This probably is not your Access97 file path for Access, you'll need to
verify that on your terminal server.

As an alternative, I highly suggest you discontinue supporting Access97, or
install the application on the user's workstation instead of the terminal
server.

Good luck,
Curt
