Having difficulty with Microsoft date & time picker in excel 2010

I am able to chose MS date & time picker 6.0 (SP6) from the drop dow
for active x control add ins, but when I choose it and attempt to inser
it into a cell, an error window pops up and says "cannot insert object"
anyone have any suggestions how to fix this. I am trying to create
drop down calendar for date selection on an excel spreadsheet
