Having problems with Earthlink and Outlook

I have tried to configure Outlook (2002) to work with Earthlink based on both
of the websites instructions. After it didn't work the first time, I used
Earthlink's live chat feature. After being forced to go through ALL the
steps again, they changed the TCP/IP settings and it worked. This happened
again about a month later, same scenario with an hour on the phone with
Earthlink they change the TCP/IP settings to yet a different number. Is
anyone else having this problem? Is there a permanent solution? Thanks!
