having problems with text when overlapping text boxes

i want to overlap two text boxes or at least make them touch....when i try to
do so the text in one of the boxes goes into overflow (disappears).....is
there a setting to help with this?

What Don said, but as you do more of this note that you may likely want to
take almost every object and mark it "No Layout" by right clicking, selecting
Format..., then Layout tab then "None." That lets you move things around at
will without the funny jumping. I do quite a bit of building ad mockups in
Publisher, and mark everything Layout None by default, just like a mark all
textboxes to turn off hyphenation.
