Having several databases with different security.mdw

I use 2 databases for one client..
The main client database uses security.mdw which allows everyone listed
access this database.
Now I have another database, which can only be opened by 2 users, I created
SecurityOffice.mdw.
I am currently using 2 shortcuts to access these two databases.

It is for me a pain that when I want to switch from one database to another,
I keep having to exit completely and then open access with another shortcut.
Is there a better way of doing this?

First of all you shouldn't have to exit one in order to open the other one.
You can have two sessions going at once.

But, is it really necessary to have two workgroup files? You should be able
to use one.

If I use one workgroup file, in the officepayroll database, where I want
only 2 users have the right to open it. How do I do that.

I just tried it out. For the officepayroll database, I joined the main
workgroup. I opened access using the shortcut where everyone has permission.
Then opened the officepayroll database, and unchecked their permission for
run/open of the database for the users I don't want to have access. I
logged out and back in with as of those users and opened the officepayroll
and it opened. How do I deny access to the officepayroll database. I don't
even want anyone except me and one other person to even open that database.

You have denied the users permission to open the payroll database, but it
sounds as though they are able to do so because of their group membership.

To make this work, you would have to create a separate group for the two
users for the payroll database, and give only that group permission to
open/deal with it. You could then assign just the two users to the payroll
group.

It seems like I finally got it to work right by creating the payroll group.
Everything still goes somewhat over my head. I ran the security wizard and
gave permission to all tables, etc to that group, but then I still had to go
in and assign permission individually to every existing item in the
database. Its so time consuming, why would the wizard not have done that?

I keep reading that you are supposed to delete the user Admin, but I keep
getting the message "cannot perform this operation".
I am a member of the admins group.

You may have been clicking too quickly during the wizard. I believe you
have to select each object type, and in addition select the individual
objects you want to secure.

I'm not sure where you read that, as it's not correct. You cannot delete
this user. You must remove them from the Admins Group, however.
