I recently removed one machine from my home network, and relocated local web
site files to the remaining computer. FP03 worked fine on the other machine,
but I can not set Remote Web Site Properties now. Here are the steps I take:
1. Click"Remote Web Site Properties"
2. Select remote web site properties as "FrontPage or SharePoint Services
(this is how I had it set on the other machine)
3. Enter URL for remote web site location
4. Click "OK."
Instead of being prompted for a username and password to access the remote
server, I receive this error message:
"Unable to open 'http://randy2282.bizland.com'. Possible causes:
1. The web server may not have the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.
2. The web server may be temporarily out of service.
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be
incorrect.
4. An error may have occurred in the web server."
To the best of my knowledge, none of the conditions exist as mentioned in
the error message.
I'm pretty sure this is a simple fix, but I can't find it. Any suggestions?
Anyone ever experience a similar problem?
Thank you,
Randy
