Is the concept of Style with Word XP totally different from the
earlier versions?
When I apply character or paragraph format, it seems to result in
creating a new style each time, judging from the change of the style
name in the style box.
I don't mind a new style being created this way, but it interferes
with how I change a style.
The fastest and easiest way for me to change a style was, make changes
to a paragraph, click the style box on the tool bar, press return, and
when word pops up a dialog box, check 'update the style after the
current paragraph (the exact message may not be this)'.
I even turned on "Prompt to update styles" option, but it does not
change how Word operates.
What am I missing?
