HD backup program selection

Appreciate assistance in selecting optimal backup program for Office and
other data to external USB hard drive.
1. System is HP Quad Core desktop, Vista SP1, Office Enterprise 2007.
2. Own Vista's backup & restore and EMC Retrospect Express HD.
