Hi, sory for my bad englesh.

I have a little problem.

I have written a sheet in excel for MSWIN. As protection I have legacy
password to the number of HD with one function VBS.

But this sheet does not work on MAC: -)

I Ask to you as I can read the number (volumeID) of the HD in microsoft
Excel for MAC. Also it's OK the serial number of the computer.

Thanks

There are different possible reasons for that. The use of
Windows only instructions (ActiveX or such) can be one of
them. Problems with filepaths can be another one.

I use mac OS X 10.3 with office X

I'm probably not familiar enough with the Windows VBA
instructions, could you be more precise with what you mean
with "the number (volumeID) of the HD".

If it's the name of the Current HD, I suppose you can
easily get it with the "CurDir" function. If that doesn't
bring you a clue, could you post the lines concerned with
that password instruction, in order to make it clearer (to
me)?

I'm pretty sure Macintosh computers do not have a hard drive volume ID the
way Windows machines do. You'll have to think of some other way to protect
your software.

I'm also not aware of any way to read the serial number of the computer on
Macintoshes. Remember a few years ago there was a great outcry about
Intel's plan to allow developers to read the serial number on PCs, I don't
think Apple would risk the same thing.
