Header and Footer GONE!!!

Hi everyone, when I open a workbook, I enter some data and
create a 3 page workbook. Next I go to "view" and
then "header and footer", enter some data in the left box,
the center, and the right. After that, I click on "file"
and then "save as", name it test123. The center box of
the footer and header disappear. Anyone got any ideas?

After you do view/header and footer/custom header/type date in left center
right/ then ok....does it show up in both the header box and print preview??
