Header and Footer Hell

Hi All,

I have a document where each section of pages is named for a date the
information was recorded. For example on page 3 midpage it might read
Wednesday, October 4, 2006 with an index marker afterwards then on page 15
it might read at the top or midsection Monday, October 9, 2006 followed by a
index marker afterwards.

I need to create a macro that places a header in my document on each page
indicating the Day and Date pertaining to that page. For example for the
above pages 3-14 would read Wednesday October 4 and pages 15+ would read
Monday, October 9.

Any ideas????

You could use a STYLEREF Field.

For example, create a style (call it MyDate), apply that style to the
date text on each page.

In the header insert field braces using ALT+F9 and type in STYLEREF
MyDate.

Toggle the field code.
