Header and Footer recurring

Hello,

Concerning Word 2003:

I have a document template formatted with header and footer. This is OK, but
the same header and footer appear on each and every page, in fact I only
want it to be on the first page. I've been looking around (including in the
online help) in order to find a method to have the header and footer on the
first page only (or on some pages yes and others not, within the same
document), unfortunately I coud not find the trick.

Is it possible to do so?

Thanks for your help. At first it did the opposite of what I wanted, but
after looking in that direction, I found a solution.
