Header Editing/Numbering

I'm using Word X v1.2 on an iMac OS X

Q: In a lengthy 100-page document, commencing about 1/2 way
through, I wish to add (or change) a few words of text to
my existing Header-without altering the Header in the
previous pages. I also wish to change the page numbering in
the edited Header (starting again with #1) at the same
juncture. Is this possible? Or must I break the document in
two by Cut & Paste and start a second document? Thanks for
any and all help in this matter-Bill

Both can be handled with a section break.
More or less exactly what it is for.

insert -> break -> Section

And then the fun really begins. Back in the old days of 5.1a when Word
developers still had a clue, there would have been a panel to set up
everything to do with a Section Break.

Today, it is more of a challenge. You will have to find the toolbar
with the button that turns off 'same as previous' for both header and
footer, use insert->page numbers to restart the numbering on the new
section all the time checking and unchecking view header and footer.

A complete and utter dog's breakfast.

To think I used to moan at Version 5 for being bloated.

Oh Lord forgive me!
