Header/Footer toolbar just disappeared

I have Word 2000, and was trying to add a watermark. In the process, my
header/footer toolbar disappeared. Page layout view and the header/footer
viewer are selected. There's no header/footer toolbar in the toolbar menu.
I have tried the repair utility and it didn't fix it. I assume its from the
normal.doc template, but am at a loss as to how to get the darned thing back.

Try this:

1. With the header pane open in a Word document, press Alt+F11 to open the
Visual Basic Editor.

2. In the Immediate window at the bottom of the screen, type

CommandBars("Header and Footer").Visible = True

3. Press Enter

Thanks, Suzanne. In frustration last night I ended up dumping the old
registry and restarting Word, which did the trick. (I would have liked to
try your suggestion, as I don't get to work much in Visual Basic.) Again,
