Header magin moves automatically after 5 minutes

We have a top header in all our reports, with the company logo, order number
and page number. And after 5 minutes (or thereabout), Word automatically cuts
away about 1.5 lines at the bottom of the header, causing all content in the
document to move accoringly. On page 2 and 3, it only moves 1 line, but it
gets worse towards the end of a 20 page document...

If I double-click in the header area, Word moves the header margin to its
correct position, but it only lasts for another 5 minutes. I'd like to upload
a image to show, but this forum doesn't seem to allow for that.

And this has happened in every Word version and OS-version since XP; in
Office XP, 2003 and 2007 running on Windows XP, Vista and 7.

Not a huge error, but annoying...

Word doesn't do this which suggests some external problem such as the
printer driver. Are you able to send me a small sample document attached to
an email to corroborate?

I am having the exact same problem. I am working with a 224 page document
that is growing as is my header space at the end of the document. I can't
shrink it no matter what I do. When you go into the header/footer area, and
use your cursor to find extra spaces or carriage returns, there aren't any so
you can't shrink it by deleting empty spaces. I tried to adjust it through
the margin but that made things worse when it would let me, which usually it
didn't. Any suggestions? It is very annoying. I don't use sections in my
docs. I use the same format throughout.
