Header Problem when opening new document

M

manassah

when opening a new document in Word, the header extends
halfway down the page. The footer is fine. Is there anyway
that I can re-set the header to its original position. The
header has worked fine until yesterday. I must have
changed the format somehow.

Many Thanks!

Hi Manassah,

Click on the Show/hide Button ¶ and see if there are a whole lot of empty

in the header. If so, select and delete them.

If there aren't any, check the formatting of the last paragraph in the
header and make sure that it does not have an excessive amount of spaced
after it.

Also check the top margin.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps

Make sure that the vertical alignment of the document is set to Top rather
than Center (Layout tab of Page Setup). If it is set to Center in all new
documents, then change it to Top and press the Default... button in Page
Setup (see
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeNormalTemplate.htm for
more).
