I'm having a strange issue with an even page header in a
Word 2002 document. I'm hopeful that someone can give me
some insight on this because I've been messing with it
for two days and it's driving me crazy!
The document is a template for a user manual. The
headers and footers contain drawing objects (simple
lines). One is a horizontal line under the title (in
header and footer), the other is a long vertical line
that runs along the outside margin of the page to provide
a visual divider for a "notes" section (in header). The
document is set to print with mirror margins, different
odd and even, different first page.
Each time I inserted a break, the next odd/even page
would appear with my headers/footers perfectly positioned
until I got to page 9 and inserted a section break-next
page. Page 10 did not have the horizontal header line,
the vertical line at the margin or the header text. From
that point forward, all even pages are missing the info
(text and objects) that I inserted in the header.
Footers are fine and odd pages are fine.
I turned "same as previous" off and on to re-link the
header with the previous section as it should be, but it
doesn't appear that they are truly connected even after I
do that. If I type text in the header, it doesn't affect
the previous section's header as it should.
I did bring some text in from another document, so
perhaps something got carried over, but I can't figure it
out for the life of me. I did an "open and repair" and
did get some kind of error regarding drawing objects, but
I know this is possible as I've done it before.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks.
