How can I get the header in MS word to start AFTER page 2--say page 3 or 4?

Thanks

My suggestions may have to be weighed against what you may have already done
to structure the document, but as long as there's nothing to prevent it this
is about the easiest way I know:

Near or at the end of the page before where you want the Header to start, go
to Insert> Break> Section Break (Continuous). Then dbl-click in the Header
area of the page you want the Header to start on & in the Formatting
Palette's Header & Footer group clear the checkbox for Link to Previous,
then enter your Header/Footer content on that page.

If you're already using section breaks or need page #s start to end or have
other considerations, please provide descriptive detail in order to work
around it with minimum disruption

I'm not sure where to find the "Formatting Palette's header & footer group". Is that under "Styles"? If not, can you be more specific about where to find it? (I have MS Word version 12.0.1, if that makes any difference). And I don't see any checkbox for "Link to previous". I also DO need to have consecutive page numbers after page 3.

Thanks.

Once you double-click in the Header area [in your case, page 3] the
Formatting Palette *automatically* updates to reveal the Header and Footer
settings. If you aren't actively in the Header/Footer the settings won't
appear because they can't be used... Review the 2nd paragraph of my reply:)
