headers and footer anomaly

Tommy

I am working with a document that goes from portrait to landscape and back
again several times. As we all know, the margins for the headers and
footers when the page changes orientation. I have notice, however, with
great inconsistency that if I click "same as previous" icon, sometimes the
header and footer adjust to the correct size and sometime they don't. Any
clues on this anomaly? (using Word 2000)

Thanks,
Tommy

Hi Tommy

If your Header/Footer contents are simple then you can get away with
Portrait/Landscape/Portrait flips. If you're using simple left/center/right
justification all's well. You can even add a horizontal line after your
header or before your footer that will automatically span the width of the
page. Just set the line before/after using the Format>Borders and Shading>
Borders>Paragraph.

However, once you start using tabs, tables, Frames, Texboxes etc, things go
wrong really fast. All these things anchor text to a particular position.
Think about it some in the context of the above and it'll start to make sense
(slowly!).
