Headers and Footers now selectable in PPT 2007

Its seems that in PPT 2007 that the slide#, footer and date are selecetable
on the slide.

The problem with this is that they get inadvertently selected when trying to
select other objects on a slide and then they get moved around.

Didn't used to be this way.

Is there any setting to make it not selectabel just like the rest of the
background is not selectable?

Or, am I doing something wrong?

Rick,
Sorry to be the deliverer of bad news, but I know of no way to change that.
Hope someone will prove me wrong.

I agree with Luc.

What I have been doing, after I have created my footer, I turn off footers and slide numbering until after I'm finished editing all my slides. When I'm ready to show the presentation, I turn those features back on.

Does anyone know why this was changed?

Its seems to be add no advantage and it makes the whole nevironment clumsier?

Any hope of chnaging it back?

YAHOO!!! Exactly what I was looking for. thanks a bunch.

MSoft ought to do an apps note and let their support people know of this as
a workaround.
