Headers and Footers option not displaying

When I select Headers and Footers option to display, the
screen burps but the edit header and footer option does
not display for me to edit. Is there a way of locking
them down that I don't know about?

I used the Detect and Repair located under Help for the
first time and it fixed it! Wonderful!
