What, exactly, are you doing to set up last printed as a header.
Suggested procedure:
View => Headers and Footers
Click with the mouse in the header to select your insertion point.
From the AutoText menu select the Last Printed AutoText entry.
-or-
Press Ctrl-F9 to create a Word Field. While in that field, type:
PrintDate \@ "dd MMMM yyyy"
then press the F9 key.
