Headers and section breaks

created a 2 column document with line numbering. After i
created I realized I need a title on the first page only.
Tried working with headers and section breaks, but I'm
missing something?

Two ways to handle this. If you want title set up in
header to only show on first page, go to Page Setup.
Click the Layout tab, and under Headers Footers section,
check the Different First Page box. That way you can put
a header on the first page only.

Second way, at top of 2-column document, click Insert.
Click Break. Choose Continuous Section break. Press
Ctrl+Home to go above the section break and choose column
icon. Choose one column. Then you can type your title on
first page.
