headers & footers

Pat

Hi:
I set up a Word document that serves as electronic
letterhead for our company. The first page has a
different header from the rest of the pages. That was no
problem. Next step: I tested it and made sure that when
you inserted a page break the 2nd page header appeared -
not the first page header. That worked So I thought it
was a done deal.
Well, when you insert a section break of any type,
anywhere in the document, the header that appears is the
first page - which is unacceptable. How do I make sure my
2nd page header appears when inserting a section break
rather than the first page header?
Thanks,
Pat

In the template, insert a section break. In Section 2, disable "Different
first page." You'll then get the Header on all pages in that section; there
will be no First Page Header. Remove the section break.

Suzanne,

I pondered that too, but when you remove the section break, the
first (= only) section acquires the attributes of the second,
i.e., no first page header. I don't see how one can store a
stealth-section-2 header configuration the same way we do it for
stealth-*page*-2 info.

Good point. I had bad vibes about that answer when I posted it (not having
tested it), and of course you're right.
