Is it possible to have a different header on each page such as is possible in
Word? or can i insert a title between tasks that will show up in the printed
gant chart as a title rather than as a task within a timeline?
Many thanks

Don't know of any way to have different headers on different pages.
Not sure what you're asking in the second question. You can put a text
field above or below each task, but I don't know a way to completely
eliminate thet time line.
To put a text field above or below each task, Select "Format,
Barstyles" and select the "Text" tab midpage. Then put whatever text
field you want above each bar.
If this isn't what you're looking for, please explain in more detail.

What i need to do is to separate my tasks into two groups which i thought i
could do by inserting a page break and having the headers on each page
reflective of the group of tasks. but since thats not possible i would like
to have headings on the page. so i would still have the page break but
instead of headers i would like a heading at the top of each page.

That is no more possible than a header. Sorry.
Your best bet is to create two views (using a filter or the like) one for
each group of tasks and print them separately.
You can automate the task using a bit of visual basic.

Having a different header on each page kind of runs counter to the whole
purpose of headers in the first place - that being, to print the same block
of text at the top of every page. It sounds like you're trying to group
tasks in a report based on some criterion. Since you haven't clearly said
what you're really looking to do it's hard to say exactly how to go about it
but perhaps you could use an existing field or grab one of the
user-definable custom fields, and then filtering and grouping would allow
you to do multiple printouts of the Gantt chart with the tasks grouped the
way you need them. What comes to mind that sort of fits what you're asking
about might be a Gantt chart showing first the tasks being done by the
Engineering Department and then another printout showing just those being
done by the Marketing department, each with its own title including the
department name. That sort of thing is easily done with filtering before
printing.

In fact, I'm not even quite sure how one would do this in Word. It does
sound like you're trying to do a a report.

Can you give us an example of how you would like the layout?

IOW, do you want different columns to show up on alternate pages?

Do you want resources to show up on alternate pages?

Kai,

You might find that in this forum, top-posting is the standard and needs no
correction.
The reasons for this are obvious given enough thinking about the issue.
