Heart Shaped Fill Effect

I used to be able to create a heart, swirl, and many other gradients in a
rectangle. I cannot locate that effect now. Am I missing something? It
used to be on the fill effects, gradient tab, but it is not there now. Can
anyone tell me where that effect is located?

Publisher 2002 removed this capability when it moved to be compatible with
the drawing tools in the rest of Office.

You can work around this by creating a heart AutoShape, setting the fill to
From Center and the line to none. Place the heart into a rectangle, and set
the rectangle's fill colour to the colour on the outside of the From Center
gradient of the heart.

Thanks Ed. It kills me that Publisher would throw out a neat feature like
that. I'll have to install my old version of Publisher on another computer
just to use that.

Thanks for the tip!

For Publisher to support the new features in the newer drawing tools (known
as Escher) version, it had to be taken out. It would have been nice to have
the old Publisher functionality built into the new tools in all Office apps,
but that was not in the hands of the Publisher team.

You can install multiple versions of Publisher concurrently on one computer.
