A person sent me a document containing Hebrew characters
created by using the Insert Symbol feature. The document
was in Word 2000. I am reading it in Word 2002 and the
characters are coming out backwards.
I found this compatibility problem to be true. I have Word
2000 in my office and Word 2002 at home. When I create a
document in my office using Hebrew chartacters it displays
backwards in Word 2002 at home.
The cause is that in Word 2000 when entering Hebrew, you
must enter the characters backwards, that is, left to
right. In Word 2002 you must enter the characters
correctly, that is, right to left. Clearly Word 2002 is
flipping the characters from the 2000 file.
I looked at the compatibvility options in Word 2002 to see
if there was a checkoff box but could not find one.
