help access2003 with office2000

I have office 2000 and need to upgrade to access 2003 to
run a new program can i just upgrade to access 2003 and
leave the rest of office 2000 alone. I tryed it but I
can not open any of the old access files.

Fist error state that file may not be safe to open.
then states you tried to open a form containing ole
object or and active x control or you tried to creat an
activex control. to obtain the appropriate licence,
contact the company that provides the OLE object or
activex control.

what the heck does this mean?

When you upgrade to another version everything needs to get upgraded. The
only time you can change one version of Access to another is if the original
install of Access was a stand-a-lone install and not part of an Office
install.
