Help: Accidentally Deleted Respool - MS Project 2003 Dead!

A

Allen

Hi

Project Server 2003:

Please help. One of the project managers accidentally deleted the
respool file from the Project Windows application by browsing to the
database via File Open / Open From File / ODBC / Project Server. He
clicked on the respool project and pressed delete - no warning, just
deleted.

Now, no one can open any projects ("Project Server Could Not Find the
Enterprise Resource Pool") and PWA shows no reseources in the list.

How do I get the respool back, or tell project to let me start again
and create a new resource pool? As the Windows application won't let
me connect to the server, I seem to be completely stuck.

Please help.

Thansk

I believe you will need your SQL Server DBA to restore the Project Server
database from the most recent backup BEFORE the Enterprise Resource Pool was
deleted. I won't comment on the actions of the PM in this situation, as his
actions are beyond my comprehension. Hope this helps.

Hello,

Try this: Create new (Blank) project (resource pool) with
no resource names and give it the same project name as the
deleted project.

Then open one of your projects Say Proj1.

Proj1 should add all the resources to the resource pool
with their allocations and times and all the other details.

Then Open all the other projects (Proj2, Proj3, ...)

Good luck,
Thanks,
Emad Ameer
