Help Analysing timescaled data in excel

Hi hope someone can help. In my project plan I have inserted some new
cost columns for my project using the cost1, cost2 etc. fields which I
am using for various sources of income. When I try to export the data
to excel to produce a cashflow with expenditure and income the analyse
timescaled data wizard won't allow me to select the cost 1, cost 2
fields as they are not timephased fields. Is there any way to make
these fields timephased or is there anyway to timephase the raw data in
excel? I'm using Project 2003.
