My Help Button used to have but has "lost" its search function where I can type in the question and be directed to general answers. Please advise.

The Dastardly Blue Jellybean strikes again!!

At the extreme top right of your Help window, there is a jelly-bean shaped
button that glows blue if you hover over it.

Nobody has a clue what it's supposed to be for (maybe Apple does, ...) but
it hides the toolbars.

Click it and your search window will re-appear!

Hope this helps

All valid points & explicitly stated, but they don't address the issue :)

The OP indicated that there is no problem getting into Help & the Help
button is readily available. It's that once the Help window opens the Search
field isn't displayed. Have a look at John's response... The title bar of
the Help window collapses the same as a document window by way of that
little capsular button at its right end :)

Please don't take this as criticism. It's intended as just the opposite...
Positive contributors are always a welcome & appreciated entity!

I would assume it is to be used to increase the space a person views
when reading an answer. then they are supposed to be smart enough to
click again to get to the help menu tool bar when finished

Hi Phillip:

I am sure your assumption is as valid as anyone else's :)

Problem is if you hit it by error, you may not realise you HAVE hit it, then
your user interface has disappeared.

And as far as I can see, it's not DOCUMENTED!

OK, given all the things Microsoft doesn't document, I guess we can forgive
Apple this once.

Although having spent a fruitless hour in the iPhoto Help, I am NOT feeling
kindly towards help authors this week...

Cheers
