HELP! Can't Locate Folder error message

R

Robin

I am trying to re-publish changes to a web site in and
with Publisher 2003. I am using FP extensions, so I am
publishing through http. My web site address is
www.warthenlaneinteriors.com.
I did the following and got the results listed.
1. I selected Publish to the Web option in Publisher.
2. In the File Name box, in the Publish to the Web
box, I typed http://www.warthenlaneinteriors.com
3. Clicked Save
4. I got the box that showed that I was trying to
connect to the server
5. I then got a the following message.
"Cannot find the
URL "http://www.warthenlaneinteriors.com/" Please check
your typing.....

I never was asked for my user name and password. Can you
please tell me what the problem could be? It does the
same thing when I try to create a network place.

Have you used this successfully prior to now?

If No then please check with your host that your domain address is the
proper URL for http uploading, not all hosts will use the domain address.

If Yes then open your Windows Explorer and browse to Network Places in the
left side folder tree and you should have your domain network place listed.
Click on it and see if you can connect.

If you can and you find Pub won't then you can publish locally and then just
copy the site files from your local folder to the network place with Windows
Explorer.

If you find it won't connect then delete the network place and restart your
machine.
Then redo the process in Pub when you have restarted.

If it still fails then contact your host and tell them you are unable to use
http publishing and create a network place. I myself have had to do that on
occasion, sometimes they get permissions modifications or tweak firewalls, or
something that just breaks this and sometimes they'll reinstall FP extensions.
