Help - Can't resize word documents (office 2001)

My Word documents don't automagically resize since I customized a
toolbar.

I expanded the toolbar from 2 "lines" to 3 lines (of icons), and made
the height of the toolbar as small as it will go.

Now most (but not all ) documents open with the top 1/2 inch or so of
the Word document "under the toolbar" -- and it's a pain to drag the
documents down to resize them.

Can anyone give a suggestion or a pointer on fixing this?? I'm
surprised I can't figure this out -- I guess I thought that the
documents would "resize" themselves -- automatically.

I can, of course, revert to using the "2 line" toolbar -- but I'd like
to figure this out if I can.

Thanks in advance!

have you tried to reposition your toolbar to make sure it's docked?

instead of dragging and resizing you can try using Window/Zoom Window to
reset the top and size of the window.

Thanks for your reply.

As far as I know I repositioned the toolbar such that it's docked.

There used to be more help information about docking -- it included
information on docking a toolbar vertically as well as horizontal. I
haven't seen -- or I haven't found -- in this 2001 version of Word
Help, anything about that .... I'll take a look at previous
versions, and/or check the MS Knowledge base ... :-|

Well, I gave that a shot :) All the zoom feature does is
change the size of the page layout -- even at 60% "reduction" the top
of the word document (new or existing) is *still* under the toolbar!

I also, just FYI, tossed the Word settings file, and 'set' a new
'page default' -- neither affected the "hidden under the toolbar"
problem.

I "coulda sworn" :) this was an *easy* thing to do -- like a
simple click in the upper right resize box, etc. It's frustrating!

Thanks again for your help and suggestions.
