Help! Command-L not working

Stevetan

I checked keyboard shortcuts in my system preferences and I don't have this
set for anything else. So I tried setting it for Word 2008, but no luck! Can
anybody help?

Thanks

Maybe it's just me, but what does "setting it for Word 2008" mean?

What do you want it to do?

Was trying to figure out how to create a keyboard shortcut for Word 2008. But
in the meantime, I stumbled across the solution in Word itself. Chose
"Tools", "Customize Keyboard", "All commands" and finally, Format, ParaLeft
and assigned Command+L to it. Voila!

I'm not sure why you had to do so, though - Cmd+L is already a default
keystroke or Left Alignment [the actual command name is LeftPara].
