Have you tried using a table? You can insert a 2 column
table, and put your links in the left column, and your
content in the right column. You can use the cell
properties to adjust the widths of your columns so that
the left is smaller than the right (assuming that is what
you would want to do).

I haven't tried that, thanks for the suggestion, I imagine that would work
fine.

Or maybe a frameset.....? with a narrow frame for navigation, and wide frame for
content.
