Hi Everyone,
About 2 months ago I began having problems with Outlook Express. When
I went to switch Identities, the cursor would immediately jump down to
the last identity on the list. If I use my mouse or keyboard arrows to
reposition it to the top of the list, it immdeiately jumps back down to
the bottom again and will continue this cycle for 2-3 more times until
it finally will rest where I postion it.
I am having the same problem with my spell checking in Outlook Express.
When the suggested spelling list appears, my cursor immediately jumps
to the last word on the list until I resposition it several more times.
I don't have any cursor issues with any other programs I run- just
Outlook Express.
I tried a different mouse and keyboard but that hasn't helped. I
finally figured it was a curroption in the program files, or some kind
of virus (even though I run up to date Firewall and Antivirus programs)
and last weekend, in frusteration, I reformated my hard drive and
re-installed Windows XP. I used an email backup program to archive all
of my email and addresses before the reformat.
After all this, I resotred my emails and addresses and as soon as I
tried using Outlook Express the same issues occured.
I read on a forum where someone advised to update the video display
driver, re-install ActiveX and uninstall Macromedia Flash. I did all
of these things and none have solved the problem.
Does anyone have any additional advice or suggestions before I throw in
the towel and call Microsoft for $35?
Thanks for your help,
Brian
