Help! dangerously low in resources

Hi! My computer says in WORD that it is "dangerously low
in resources--would you like to terminate the following
application" everytime I try to open up a document.
Anyone know what is wrong? SS

Try this:

http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/InsufficientMemory ..htm

At this helpful web site which solved the problem of the
message upon trying to open "WORD 2000": "A Fatal
exception OD has occurred at 0606:0000FCD2. The current
application will be terminated." When trying to
open 'WORD' later, the computer froze (I could get nothing
to move with the mouse, and the 'Start' menu was blank),
and the message "Dangerously low on resources" appeared in
a white box. I had to do 'hard shutdown'.
I decided the cure of changing the file name
from 'Normal.dot' to 'Normal.old' would probably fix it.
But I looked for it in 'Windows Explorer' under:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Word.
No "Normal" file is there. With the help of Start","Find",
I located it in:
C:\WINDOWS\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Templates.
I changed it's name and deleted the extra one. There were
no shortcuts to delete.
