Help Deleting Corrupt Projects

A

Aaronman

I am trying to delete a couple of projects that seem to be corrupt. When I go
into project web access select "Admin" and "Clean up project server
databases" the projects that I suspect are corrupted don't list anything
under "Version".

If I try and delete it I get the error message "An error occured while
completing the operation"

If I try to use PSCleaner it doesn't even list the projects I want to delete.

Thanks

I'm looking for the answer to this one as well. We had two created "triggers"
installed into our Project Server environment to capture resource time and
send to our time-tracking system. Well these "triggers" caused no end of
problems to the Update cycle of Project Server (first I couldn't publish,
then I couldnt' update, etc.). After a complete rebuild of our system, we
realized it was the "triggers" causing the errors, but one of the errors
caused where the "ghost" projects you mention. They definitely cannot be seen
when a user File, Opens from Project Professional but they can still be seen
in PWA under Projects and when I'm on the "Clean up Project..." Admin page.

We were wondering if there was a database file that needed to be "cleaned"
of those "ghost" projects.

Good luck and I'll be looking for any response you receive :)

I have that downloaded and know how to use the utility. I wish the solution
were that simple. Unfortunately, these aren't duplicate projects. These two
projects are not visible when using the Delete Duplicate Projects Utility,
the open dialog box from Project Professional or the "Check In" feature.
These are projects with no version that can only be seen in PWA. And when
trying to delete them from the Admin page "Clean Up the Project Server
Database", the message "An error occurred while completing the operation" is
recieved and the project remains.

But thank you for the suggestion :)

I have yet to hear of a solution to the problem of having Projects still
showing up on the WEB table side and not in the MSP table side. They are
only visible through "Clean Up Project Server" and without a Version. I
have seen this in a MS 2002 implementation when the delete failed to
complete. However, we were able to use the "Clean Up Project Server" and
the second time it would delete.

Whoever figures this one out will be a lifesaver.

I was wondering if you've found a solution yet.

I JUST got hosed by the spooler. I got the "duplicate tasks" error and
proceeded to delete the project from Admin and re-import the project. Looks
like I inadvertently hit the "retry" button on the spooler and it entered it
into PWA but can't see it in PSCleaner.

Thoughts?
