Help Deleting Duplicate Emails using Scripts

Are you rebuilding Entourage frequently? This will cause messages to be
downloaded again.

First you shouldn't keep all your messages on the server in the Inbox. Move
the old ones out so you won't get them downloaded over and over.

Yours is the first complaint over the script deleting all copies. Remove
Duplicate Messages Author: Jolly Roger is the most exhaustive in what it
checks.

This script removes duplicate messages from the current selection in
Entourage. The script determines whether a message is a duplicate of another
message by examining the Subject, From, Date, and Message ID headers. The
script optionally archives duplicate messages to disk before removing them
in Entourage.

The neat thing about this script is that it stores archives of each message
it removes from Entourage, and keeps a log of what it does. So if you run it
and you find it deleted something you didn't want deleted, all you need to
do is find the message file in the archive folder and drag that file back
into the Entourage window.

I guess like many people out there I've had the issue of getting my emails
downloaded multiple times on Entourage (about once a week I get an
additional 2000 email messages that get downloaded for the 2nd or 3rd time).
I tried using the various scripts for deleting these emails on the website:
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/duplicates.html, but I noticed that
sometimes they delete all the copies of the email. Does anyone know what a
good solution is? I was thrilled to find these scripts but was very
disappointed to see this problem. Even if only a few emails are deleted that
should not be deleted, that's too many.
