HELP!! Email Alerts and Notifications Stopped working

C

Chris Moran

Single server installation that has both internal and external address.

I'm all patched to current SP's. We recently migrated from imail to
Exchange. After the migration the email account for the project server
changed. I updated both the Project Server and Sharepoint email account with
the new information and notifications are no longer being sent.

In the health monitor I received errors saying that the emails could not be
sent. I then changed over to another email server that is local, that I know
I can control with relay settings, etc. There is no reason why this
shouldn't work. I am not recieving any errors that the email is not being
sent, but no alerts or notifications are being sent.

Is there a service that controls this that has been disabled? Help!@

Chris:

I'm not sure which services might pickup and retain this information, but
you might consider at least an IIS restart, if not a system reboot just to
be sure.

I went ahead and speficied both the internal and external IP address for the
project server, reset IIS, and then rebooted the server. It took a couple of
cycles past the set notification time to start sending emails again, but it
works now. One thing that I did do is change the server address, reboot,
then change the email server address again, reboot, and it seems to have
stuck with the changes.

thanks!
